Farmer Gareth Wyn Jones launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Andy Burnham during a live GB News segment, criticizing Labour's agricultural policies and the PM's holiday timing.

Jones compared former PM Keir Starmer to a "rat" jumping off a sinking ship and slammed Burnham for taking a holiday just weeks into the job. He said: "[Labour] talk a good talk but they don't walk a good walk. It's early days, he's off on another jolly, another holiday and a bit of enjoyment, so let him have his rest and relaxation while other people are working the land to feed the nation."

The farmer called for the complete scrapping of inheritance tax and criticized Net Zero policies, saying: "I think we've got to look at this Net Zero craziness, all these solar farms losing hundreds of thousands of acres of prime agricultural land to feed the nation. It's a small island with a growing population that needs to be fed."
Supermarkets and Procurement
Jones highlighted the tough conditions for farmers, urging supermarkets to offer fair prices. He also demanded the government procure British food for public institutions: "The government should be procuring everything British, for the hospitals, for the jails, for everything, schools… Procuring British food will then add more value to it."
Call for Strong Leadership
He concluded by calling for a leader with courage to address these issues: "We need somebody who's got a big pair of you-know-whats, that he can get to grips with this, scrap that inheritance tax, look at how we're producing food in this country in a way that it can be affordable for the masses, but farmers having a fair price, so these multinational corporations aren't taking all the cream."
