East Kilbride Hiking Club travelled by coach to the skiing resort of Glen Shee for its latest outing, with members enjoying another day out on the mountains.
Low-level group's clockwise loop
A low group of 19 took to the chilly mountains to the east of the A93 and completed a clockwise loop taking in Meall Odhar (922m) and Glas Maol (1068m) before edging along the ridge of Creag Leacach with its spectacular scree slopes either side. Skirting around the side of Meall Gorm took the group back to the A93.
One notable event en route was a fun ceremony for a member climbing her first Munro, Glas Maol (1068m), which coincidentally was the final Munro collected by another hiker in the group 30 years ago. Well done Julie and happy Munro anniversary Eddie!
High-level group's 13km route
Meanwhile, to the west of the road, the 18 high-level walkers followed a complex 13km route taking in Carn Aosda (915m) and The Cairnwell (933m), offering views all round.
A social hour on the way home gave everyone the chance to reflect on another great day out on the mountains with the club.
