Jeremy Clarkson was left open-mouthed after a farming error led to an explosive confrontation with his co-star Kaleb Cooper. The 61-year-old former Top Gear presenter, who now documents his farming adventures in the Amazon Prime series Clarkson's Farm, made a rookie mistake that could jeopardise his harvest.
The incident occurred during the final episode of the series, when Clarkson returned to his barn after harvesting barley, only to find it already filled to the brim with rape (oilseed rape). Cooper, an experienced young farmer, did not hold back, yelling: 'You f***ed up!'
Cooper explained that Clarkson would need to sell the barley immediately as rain threatened to ruin the crop. He also criticised Clarkson for failing to organise enough lorries for the harvest, stating: '20 lorries you should have organised.' Clarkson looked shocked as Cooper continued: '20 lorries! They should have been coming back and forth, back and forth.'
Clarkson replied that it was six o'clock on a Saturday night and they would not get more lorries until Monday, to which Cooper responded: 'And it's going to rain tonight.' When Clarkson asked if they were 'completely stuck,' Cooper confirmed: 'Yes, completely stuck. We can't cut any more barley now because you f***ed up.'
Clarkson later admitted his mistake, saying: 'I made the mistake about nine months ago when I went “that barn’s big enough”. I was in full Yorkshire mode. “No I’m not spending more than 22 grand. That barn’s perfectly big enough, everything will go in there.”'
