Barratt Homes West Scotland raised over £7,000 for St Andrew's Hospice in Airdrie through an It's a Knockout event. Staff collected £3,630, which was match-funded by the company, bringing the total donation to over £7,000.
Event details
Now in its second consecutive year supporting the event, Barratt Homes West Scotland entered two teams into the inflatable assault course challenge. Twenty employees from across development and office teams took part, competing over three rounds: the first two dry, with the final round proving far wetter and more slippery.
Teams were also judged on costumes, gazebos, mascots and team names, with Barratt Homes' entries competing as The Doughnuts and The Cookies.
Charity partnership
St Andrew's Hospice has been one of Barratt Homes West Scotland's charity partners for the past two years, with all funds raised through the event being matched by the company via its JustGiving page.
Stuart Dodson, land director at Barratt Homes West Scotland, said: "It's fair to say the competitive spirit well and truly took over on the day. Both teams gave everything they had and the winners' bragging rights are already making themselves known around the office. What makes it all worthwhile, though, is knowing every penny raised will support St Andrew's Hospice. The care they provide to families during some of the most difficult times is extraordinary, and if a day of inflatable assault courses and soggy costumes helps support that work, then it's the least we could do to show our support."
The event also gave staff the opportunity to build relationships with colleagues from across the business, as well as representatives from other companies taking part on the day.
