Amanda Owen Shares Update After 'Rocky Start' with New Calf

Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has reassured fans after a 'rocky start' with a new calf on her farm. The television personality, known as The Yorkshire Shepherdess, shared updates on social media about a sickly cow and her calf, Bonny, who required extra care.

In a recent post, Owen posted clips and photographs of milking the new calf, expressing relief that both Bonny and her mother Joy are 'both looking better'. She wrote: 'After a rocky start our sickly cow and calf are both looking better. For a little while it proved difficult to keep them away from the water, a sure sign of sickening if unnaturally thirsty.'

Owen added that their house cow, Buttercup, has been providing extra milk top-ups for Bonny, as mother Joy 'is still quite lacklustre in the parenting department'. Fans offered encouragement, with comments such as 'Come on Bonny you can do this' and 'Hardworking team'.

Just weeks earlier, Owen had announced the arrival of Buttercup's calf, Rowan, noting that Buttercup 'has saved the day' for premature Bonny. In a recent interview with Yorkshire Life, Owen discussed raising her nine children on the farm, saying: 'Life here prepares you for life anywhere. It gives you a can-do mindset, common sense, and a work ethic.'
