Amanda Owen Battles 'Seriously Cold Conditions' on Yorkshire Farm, Vows 'I Can Only Do My Best'
Amanda Owen tackles 'serious condition' on Yorkshire farm

Yorkshire shepherdess and television personality Amanda Owen has given fans a raw insight into the harsh realities of farm life, candidly discussing her recent struggle with "seriously cold conditions" on her remote Ravenseat Farm.

A Frigid Search on the Moors

The 50-year-old mother-of-nine, who found fame on Channel 5's Our Yorkshire Farm, took to Instagram to share a series of videos documenting her challenging search for a missing sheep named 'Blindie Eye'. The star, who announced her separation from husband Clive Owen in 2022 but continues to work alongside him, was seen trudging through icy fields as the weather deteriorated.

"The weather has taken a turn for the worst, it is now snowing and it is so cold," Amanda explained directly to the camera. "I say it’s cold but it is warmer than it was but it’s just snowing – before it was just icy but now it’s wet snow." Her mission was ultimately cut short by the worsening conditions, forcing her to retreat to her truck empty-handed.

'I Can Only Do My Best'

In a heartfelt admission, Owen expressed her frustration at being unable to locate the vulnerable ewe, whose impaired vision had been noted days earlier. "No sign of Blindie Eye but I’m sure she is fine," she said, "I just need this weather to calm down so she can come out of where she is hiding. I just wanted to treat her but anyway I can only do my best."

Accompanying her posts, the shepherdess wrote a caption detailing the extreme environment, mentioning "temperatures well below zero and a wind chill that takes your breath away." She described the ongoing game of "hide and seek…..with sheep," adding it was "not a game that I’m so fond of when the weather turns."

Fan Support Floods In

Amanda's dedicated followers were quick to offer messages of admiration and support in the comments section of her post. One fan praised, "You are so committed," while another declared, "You’re made of tough stuff & put us all to shame!" A third simply called her a "warrior shepherdess," highlighting the immense respect she commands for persevering through all seasons on the demanding Dales farm.

This update provides a genuine glimpse into the relentless challenges of farming, far removed from television glamour, as Amanda Owen continues to manage her vast farm, raise her nine children, and connect authentically with her audience despite the personal and professional hurdles.
