Amanda Owen Opens Up About Reuniting with Ex Clive for New Renovation Project

Amanda Owen has spoken candidly about her separation from ex-husband Clive and their decision to work together on a new television series. The couple, who split after 22 years of marriage, are teaming up to restore a dilapidated farmhouse in the Yorkshire Dales. The project, located near their Ravenseat Farm in Swaledale, is intended to create a legacy for their nine children.

Amanda, 50, explained that she enjoys doing TV and is proud of where they have got to. She acknowledged the challenges of their relationship, saying, 'Life throws you some funny curve balls, but it's how you overcome them and move forward.' She added with a chuckle, 'But don't get me wrong, we have our moments and our differences of opinion!'

The property, known as Anty John's, was purchased by Amanda on the first day of the March 2020 lockdown. The 1800s farmhouse came with 30 acres of land and common grazing rights. However, the renovation has been slow, with the couple only managing to install a roof a year later. Amanda described the early stages as overwhelming, with the property lacking foundations and a roof, and plagued by outdated planning permission.

Despite the setbacks, Amanda remains determined. She starts her day at 4.30am and works late into the night, balancing the renovation with full-time farming and parenting. She dismissed being called a superwoman, saying, 'No, no, life isn't about perfection. It's about overcoming things. Everyone is juggling. I am no role model. I'm just someone who tries to do their best.'

The couple's children, aged from eight to 23, have been helping with the project. Amanda wants them involved because 'this is for them.' She added, 'I don't want anything handed to them on a plate.' The new series will follow their efforts to restore the farmhouse, which Amanda hopes will eventually become a home for their family.
