Amanda Owen, the star of the former Channel 5 series Our Yorkshire Farm, has opened up about the breakdown of her marriage to Clive Owen and her subsequent split from boyfriend Robert Davies. The mother of nine revealed that she is no longer on speaking terms with Davies, a 72-year-old web designer, after a five-year relationship.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Owen explained that her marriage to Clive ended partly due to tensions arising from her time away from the farm. 'Clive never liked me being away from the farm, and that led to arguments,' she said. During lockdown, she realised she felt calmer apart from him, leading to a permanent separation.
Owen described her relationship with Davies as starting as a friendship, with Clive's knowledge and even encouragement. However, the media attention took a toll. 'Rob and I were both shattered by the way the media pursued us and reported it, and as a result Rob and I are no longer together or in touch,' she stated.
The Owen family is set to return to television with a new series on More4 titled Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids. The 10-part show will follow the family as they renovate a derelict farmhouse near their home in Swaledale. Owen expressed excitement about the project, noting the challenges of filming outdoors on an exposed hill end.
