£1.99 Home Bargains Item Removes Limescale in 20 Mins

Cleaner Charmaine Allen has revealed a simple two-step method using a £1.99 Home Bargains product to remove limescale from shower screens in just 20 minutes. With 17 years of experience in the cleaning industry, Allen shared her technique on TikTok under the handle @charmaineallen87.

The Two-Step Method

Allen relies on two products from Home Bargains: the Kilrock The One That Works bathroom spray for limescale removal and the Elbow Grease Glass Cleaner for polishing. The Kilrock spray costs only £1.99, while the glass cleaner is priced at 99p.

"Shower screens can be hard to clean if you do not have the right cleaning products," Allen explained. "I know what I'm using as I've been doing this for 17 years. I'm going to show you what works."

How to Apply the Products

Allen advises spraying the Kilrock product onto the shower screen and leaving it to soak for 20 minutes before rinsing. After rinsing, she recommends respraying and using a cloth to wipe the screen. Finally, she uses the Elbow Grease Glass Cleaner to buff the screen to a gleaming finish.

"Let me tell you, it really really does work," she said. "I would not share this with you if it didn't work. The bonus is that it smells like lemon. It sells out so quickly, but honestly, it's a must-have. Takes the hard work out of any shower clean."

Natural Alternative: Vinegar

For those seeking a more eco-friendly and budget-friendly option, many of Allen's followers suggested using vinegar. White distilled vinegar, with its 5% acidity, effectively breaks down dirt, grease, and grime while killing bacteria. Unlike darker vinegars, it won't leave stains, making it an ideal natural cleaner for shower screens.
