A woman was left dumbfounded when a couple asked her to move so their son could sit next to them on a plane. When she saw him, she couldn't believe her eyes, wondering why they'd even bothered to ask in the first place.
When she got on the aircraft, she noticed a couple arguing with the flight attendants about their seats, and it was clear they weren't happy about where they were all sitting. However, in this awkward situation, the tension increased when the man in the couple approached the woman, claiming he and his son had been separated on the plane.
Pressure at the Seat
As it was just the two of them flying, he asked whether she would switch seats to accommodate them. She explained: "The man from the couple immediately cornered me, standing over me, and I felt my heart drop. He said that he and his son are sitting separately, and if I would be willing to switch seats.
"I asked him if it was just him and his son, and he said yes. He lied. His wife was clearly with them - I overheard their conversation as I walked by. He then casually mentioned that the son is in the very back of the cabin."
Not wanting to bow to the pressure, the plane passenger stuck up for herself. She said: "I looked him right in the eye and told him I would rather not, and turned around to settle in".
The Reveal
Eventually, the woman who refused the seat swap was left gobsmacked as she saw the son, who ended up sitting in front of her. She estimated he was around 20 years old, which made him older than her.
She fumed: "The entitlement! They just wanted to sit together and pawn off the s*** seat to someone else."
The woman also pointed out that they were on a business class flight, so there was actually no such thing as "sitting together," just near each other.

One wrote: "Last week I watched a wife ask a window seat girl to swap with her so she could sit next to her husband, and when the girl asked what kind of seat it was, and she said middle, the girl said, 'Uhhh, I'd rather not,' but after some pressure, she finally switched."
"Ain't no way in hell am I switching my window seat with a middle for a 7 hour flight. I felt so bad because you could tell she didn't want to with the way she hesitated, but gave in".
Someone else shared: "Had this happen once when I was travelling solo. I had the window seat in Economy Plus, like almost always. Basically, always pick row 9 or 10 on United if it's available. The woman in the middle asked me if I'd be willing to switch with her boyfriend.
"I've flown nearly 1000 flights in my life, and on occasion I've done it, but when it's within a row or so. I asked her where he was sitting, and she pointed to the back of the plane. There's a guy waving, maybe three rows from the furthest back, clearly in a middle seat.
"I said, 'nah, I'll be staying here,' and went back to looking at my phone, wondering on what planet she thought that would be successful. She was giving me the stink eye for most of the flight. But it was only two hours. If you can't spend two hours apart from your significant other on a flight, you've got bigger issues than seat assignments".
