Prince Harry May Skip King Charles Meeting to Avoid Frenzy

Prince Harry, currently in the UK for a solo visit to promote next year's Invictus Games in Birmingham, may choose not to meet with King Charles to prevent a media frenzy, according to a royal expert.

Expert Says Meeting Would Overshadow Invictus Games

John McDermott, co-founder of Caloroga Shark Media and creator of the Palace Intrigue podcast, told Sky News Australia that the Duke of Sussex remains "deeply committed" to promoting the Invictus Games. He suggested that any meeting between Harry and his father would "become the story," diverting attention from the Games.

McDermott noted that just as King Charles decided against seeing Harry during his trip to the US in April, the prince may also avoid fitting his father into his schedule for the same reason.

Future Royal Attendance at Invictus Games Could Spark Headlines

McDermott added: "The more interesting question, in my view, is what happens when the Games themselves take place next year. With plenty of advance notice, senior members of the Royal Family will have the opportunity to decide whether to attend and won’t be able to blame 'scheduling' for a well-announced event. Whatever they choose, that decision makes headlines."

Harry's visit marks a continued effort to promote the Invictus Games, which he founded in 2014 for wounded, injured, or sick armed services personnel. The 2027 Games are scheduled to be held in Birmingham, England.
