Perez Hilton Apologized to Britney Spears Before Crisis

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton reached out to stars including Britney Spears and Khloé Kardashian to apologize for his past treatment of them before his mental health crisis livestream on TikTok this week.

Apologies Made Before Livestream

In a podcast recorded on July 14 but released recently, Perez said he had "made amends - or tried to - with a lot of people." He added that he had "reached out to them privately. I mean, I even reached out to Britney Spears."

According to Perez, his apology to Britney was received "well," as relayed by an intermediary. He also said his apology to Khloé Kardashian was well received, calling her "very kind."

Disturbing Livestream and Aftermath

On Wednesday, Perez was seen brandishing a knife and injuring himself during a livestream on his social media channel. Police responded after multiple emergency calls. His niece and three children, who were in the house, had to flee the property.

He was live for 30 minutes before his account was suspended. He was then transported to a local hospital for treatment. His family has asked for privacy, stating he is now receiving treatment.

Family Statement and Recovery

A family statement said: "We will continue to provide updates on Perez’s condition through PerezHilton.com when we have additional information we are able to share. Again, thank you for your compassion, understanding, and continued prayers."

Another update confirmed Perez is able to communicate, giving the family hope. They respectfully asked for continued prayers and understanding as he recovers.

Past Behavior and Reflection

During the interview, Sean Hannity called out Perez for his frequent attacks on celebrities, including mocking appearances and speculating about sexuality. Asked if he still did this, Perez said: "No."

He admitted: "I realised what I was doing was wrong. I realised that I could still be fun, but I don't have to be so cheap, and I don't have to be so cruel. And that is something I carry with me. It's like my scarlet letter. And it's very heavy baggage."

Financial Pressures

The dad-of-three is said to be facing mounting financial pressure after being hospitalised earlier this year and subsequent medical bills. A source told Page Six: "He's one of the hardest-working people I know, and suddenly being faced with these mounting financial pressures was a lot for him."
