The World Naked Bike Ride returned to Cardiff for the second time this summer, giving shoppers an eyeful as a sea of cyclists rode through the city in the nude on Sunday, August 9.
The ride, which started outside the National Museum Cardiff, aims to encourage safer urban cycling routes and sustainable transport, raise awareness about global warming, celebrate body acceptance, and promote renewable energy.
As bare as you dare
Participants were told to dress "as bare as you dare" as the ride aims to turn the vulnerability of cyclists on the roads into something impossible to overlook. While most opted for complete nudity, others chose body paint, costumes, or partial clothing.
The brave riders were out for over two hours in 26°C heat, making their way around the city from 1.30pm until 4pm.
Second ride this year
This was the second time the event took place in Cardiff this year, having previously graced the streets on June 28. The ride is one of Wales' most distinctive celebrations of cycling, sustainability, and body freedom.
Organisers say the message is 'deliberately visible' due to the fact cyclists are some of the most physically vulnerable road users. Spirits were high during the ride, which proved quite the spectacle for many in the city centre.
