Cambridge Tops UFO Sighting Rankings
Cambridge has been identified as the UK's "alien capital" following a new analysis of police UFO reports. The city logged the highest number of sightings per head, with an estimated 0.25% lifetime chance of an encounter, according to data from UFO Identified and CSB, a platform that analyses odds.
With 19 recorded reports of alien encounters, Cambridge scales to 153 reports per million residents. This rate dwarfs that of London, which recorded only 11 sightings per million. The analysis scrutinised over 50 Freedom of Information requests to UK police forces and ranked 25 cities.
Flat Geography and Academic Culture Drive Reporting
Cambridge's high UFO sighting count is attributed to the flat Fenland geography, which offers vast, unobstructed sky views across eastern England. Additionally, the city's academic research culture encourages residents to formally document unusual aerial phenomena rather than ignore them. CSB noted, "The university research culture likely means unusual things get documented."
Expert Predicts Alien Contact at World Cup

He said with billions watching the World Cup live, the timing "aligns eerily" with escalating UFO disclosures and recent Pentagon file releases under US President Donald Trump.
Lee pointed to a "documented history of bizarre UFO-soccer intersections" that suggest extraterrestrials have long had a curious interest in football, including an incident when a spaceship stopped play. He stated, "With the 2026 tournament kicking off amid unprecedented transparency from the US Government, we may be days or weeks away from the moment the world has been waiting for – live disclosure before the largest global audience in human history."
