The latest Strictly Come Dancing live show began with hosts Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe and Josh Widdicombe announcing that actress Jaime Winstone would not be taking part in Saturday's edition due to injury.
Saturday, November 7's programme marked the midway point of the competition as the remaining couples took to the ballroom floor hoping to impress judges Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas, as well as viewers at home.
Jaime Winstone granted a bye
Minutes into the live transmission, Josh revealed: "Unfortunately we are missing one couple, Jaime and Carlos. Jaime has been advised not to perform this weekend on medical grounds. Under the rules of the competition she receives a bye through to next week."
Winstone is expected to dance again next week with professional partner Carlos Gu, who won the Strictly title last year with former footballer Karen Carney.
Hosts send their love
Emma continued: "Jaime, we know you're watching from home tonight we miss you so much and we're sending you all our love and we hope you get better soon."
Earlier in the week, the actress shared the news of her withdrawal, stating: "I am absolutely devastated not to be dancing this weekend due to a torn abdominal muscle."
She added: "I am in considerable pain, and my doctors have advised complete rest to give my body the best possible chance to heal. As frustrating as it is, I have to put my health first and follow their advice to step away from dancing this week."
Recovery hopes
Winstone said: "I love every moment of dancing and performing with Carlos, and I am praying for a speedy recovery so that I can continue this magical journey. I want to thank everyone for their incredible support so far."
A BBC spokesperson said: "Due to injury, Jaime Winstone has been advised by doctors to rest and, as a result, she will not dance in this weekend's Strictly Come Dancing."
The spokesperson added: "In line with the rules of the show, Jaime and Carlos will receive a bye through to next week when it is hoped they will be able to dance again. We wish Jaime the very best as she continues her recovery."
