A Daily Star reader is devastated after his best friend denied him sex but then bragged about having great sex with other men. The woman, whom he has loved for five years, recently returned from Portugal after a failed move and expects to resume their friendship as if nothing happened.
The reader explains that his friend knows he would sleep with her in a heartbeat, but she treats him poorly. In March, she announced she was moving to Portugal for a better life, breaking his heart. She abandoned their planned coffee shop business and sold her belongings.
Return and bragging
Now she is back, claiming things didn't work out with the people she stayed with, whom she found controlling and boring. She has openly talked about meeting a chef in Portugal, with whom she had great sex, but they split when she caught him with a waitress.
The reader feels made a fool of and doesn't understand why he should welcome her back when she left without a second thought. He is also upset that she doesn't appreciate what she put him through when she pulled the plug on their business venture.

Jane O'Gorman advises the reader to organise a chat with his friend and ask her to see things from his point of view. She suggests making it clear that he is not jealous of her experience, but she needs to accept that she can't just clap her hands and expect everyone to turn somersaults for her.
Jane also questions whether the story about the chef is true, suspecting it might be made up to put a positive spin on a disappointing experience. She warns that if the friend knows how he feels and isn't interested, he is wasting his time on the wrong person.
