Ariana Grande has launched the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation, a new initiative dedicated to supporting, protecting, and providing vital resources for the LGBTQ+ community. The foundation will focus on protecting trans and LGBTQ+ rights, expanding access to mental health care, and responding with care and compassion in moments of crisis.
Four Funds for Change
The Brighter Days Ahead Foundation will support vulnerable individuals through four distinct funds:
- The Protect & Defend Fund: Empowers grassroots groups advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, civil rights, and reproductive justice, fostering safe and supportive communities.
- The Heal & Dream Fund: Expands access to mental health care and community support, helping people feel seen, understood, and able to heal.
- The Seen & Celebrated Fund: Ensures LGBTQ+ voices and stories are heard and shared.
- The Emergency Support Fund: Provides rapid aid and resources during urgent moments of collective need. Recent grantees include Save the Children UK, Humanity Crew, New York Cares, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, This Is About Humanity, and Troop 6000.
Ariana's Statement
In a statement posted to Instagram, Ariana said she hopes her foundation will provide the safe space and care desperately needed by many. She expressed gratitude for being able to expand her reach and amplify the lifesaving work of these organizations. The foundation's website states its mission is to protect trans and LGBTQ+ rights, expand mental health care access, and respond with compassion in crises.
Recent Activism
This initiative follows Ariana's criticism of President Donald Trump after her song 'Bye' was used in a promotional video for US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE). She called the agency barbaric and inhumane, demanding her music not be associated with such actions. Her team successfully had the track removed from the video.
