Historic Liverpool Building Reopens as McSwiggin's Irish Pub

McSwiggin's - House of Stout opened its doors on Wednesday, July 15 at 25 Fenwick Street in Liverpool city centre, transforming the historic Grade II listed Castle Moat House into a new pub. The building, once a commercial bank built in 1841, had been vacant for years before being revived by Liverpool independent operator Pub Invest Group.

New Venue Details

The pub features two floors with tables, booths, fireplaces, TV screens, and two bars. It offers a premium whiskey collection, live music, live sports, and classic pub food. General manager Dean McClafferty expressed excitement about bringing the listed building back into use, respecting its history while providing a welcoming space.

Opening and Offerings

McSwiggin's is open from 12pm to late seven days a week. The venue emphasizes a dedication to the ultimate, patient Guinness pour, alongside an extended range of stouts and familiar Irish favorites. Pub Invest Group also operates other Liverpool venues including Rubber Soul Complex, The Old Bank, Temple Tavern, and Level.
