Emmerdale Launches Dingle Court Spin-Off on YouTube

Emmerdale has announced a new digital spin-off series titled Dingle Court, which will premiere on the ITV soap's official YouTube channel this Sunday, July 19. The series takes inspiration from the long-running family tradition within the show, where the Dingle clan resolves disputes through a makeshift court. However, this real-life version will feature cast members out of character, engaging in lighthearted debates on various topics.

First Episode Features Belle and Cain Dingle

The inaugural episode will star Eden Taylor-Draper (Belle Dingle) and Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle), who will sit at the iconic Dingle dinner table to discuss and disagree on everyday and bizarre subjects. In a trailer for the series, Jeff Hordley teases, 'Somebody would normally get banished from the family in this situation. We're going to introduce topics to one another and we're going to agree or disagree.' Topics teased include holiday destinations, satin pyjamas, and toilet roll holders.

Weekly Installments and Future Guests

Weekly episodes will be released on the Emmerdale YouTube channel, with topics changing each week. While the first pair is from the Dingle family, the show has promised that other villagers may also appear in future episodes, expanding beyond the Dingle clan. The remaining pairings have yet to be announced.

What Is Dingle Court?

In the soap, Dingle Court is a family tribunal used to judge members who break the Dingle code—a set of unwritten rules that include not stealing from or betraying family, sticking together, and avoiding police involvement. The late patriarch Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell) traditionally presided as judge, but since his passing, Cain has taken over. Proceedings are held at Wishing Well Cottage, with other family members acting as jury. If found guilty, the accused faces excommunication, being disowned and treated as a ghost by the family. Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) has faced the court multiple times due to her scheming but often manages to reintegrate.
