The Prince and Princess of Wales are reportedly devoted viewers of The Celebrity Traitors, the BBC reality competition with an IMDb rating of 8.7, according to a royal expert.
Speaking on Palace Confidential on YouTube, Daily Mail royal editor Rebecca English said: "Now, William and Catherine are massive Traitors fans. I can tell you that now. They love the programme. Absolutely glued to it."
William's playful tease at royal engagement
William's enthusiasm surfaced during a recent engagement in Somerset, where he met actor Ross Kemp, an ambassador for the National Emergencies Trust. The Prince was visiting in his capacity as the charity's patron to highlight new equipment for people affected by winter flooding.
Kemp also appears on The Celebrity Traitors, where his tough-guy reputation is undermined by his tendency to become suspicious when touched. Rebecca explained that William playfully touched the actor and asked: "Is it alright to touch you, Ross?" - an inside reference to the programme.
Previous TV favourites revealed
In a 2017 BBC Radio 1 interview, the couple discussed their viewing habits while promoting their Heads Together mental health campaign. William revealed they were fans of Homeland and Game of Thrones, telling presenter Scott Mills: "Homeland, we're big fans of that, and Game of Thrones."
They also said takeaways were a regular treat, with Kate confirming they enjoyed ordering curry. William confessed that spicy food was not his strong point.
Latest episode twists
The latest episode of The Celebrity Traitors saw Richard E Grant banished after receiving the most votes from contestants, including fellow traitors Maya Jama and James Acaster. Grant announced: "I am… an unfaithful traitor."
Reflecting on his downfall, he added: "I have been annihilated. I have managed to checkmate myself, which, as far as I'm aware, has never been done." Instead of murdering another contestant, Jama and Acaster recruited mathematician Hannah Fry as the show's third traitor, with Fry exclaiming: "I was sure you were Faithfuls, you absolute legends. Oh, it's going to be so fun!"
