Production on the third season of Netflix's 'Wednesday' has commenced in Ireland, with several new cast members joining the hit series. Chris Sarandon ('Dog Day Afternoon', 'The Princess Bride'), Noah Taylor ('Peaky Blinders', 'Game Of Thrones'), Oscar Morgan ('A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms'), and Kennedy Moyer ('Task') are among the new additions.
They join previously announced guest star Winona Ryder, whose role as Tabitha was revealed earlier, and Eva Green, who will portray Morticia Addams' sister, Ophelia. Returning cast includes Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, and others such as Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, and Fred Armisen.
A promotional video for the start of production featured a dinner scene with place-setting cards hinting at character names. Noah Taylor will play Cyrus, Oscar Morgan portrays Atticus, and Kennedy Moyer takes on Daisy. Chris Sarandon's character is Balthazar, likely referencing the Addams family cousin, though he is supposedly deceased. A question mark on a nearby bottle suggests a mystery character.
Showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar expressed excitement, stating: 'It’s our dark delight to fling open Nevermore Academy’s gates once more... This season we welcome new students, new teachers, and excavate some long-rotting Addams Family secrets.' Director Tim Burton also praised the new additions, calling them 'dear friends and past collaborators.'
Season 2, which debuted in 2025, became Netflix's fifth most-watched English-language series, following the record-breaking first season. The previous season ended on multiple cliffhangers, including the revelation of Aunt Ophelia's whereabouts and Enid's transformation. Further details on Season 3 are expected later.
