Strictly Come Dancing contestant Will Best broke down in tears during Halloween week, prompting an outpouring of support from viewers. The Big Brother presenter and his professional partner Dianne Buswell performed their Couple's Choice routine to Nu Flow by Big Brovaz on Saturday night (October 31), receiving a score of 32 out of 40 from the judges.
Emotional video package
Before their dance, a video package showed Will reflecting on the struggles of his presenting career before landing the Big Brother job on ITV. He described his career as having "peaks and troths," recalling how his early success on T4 and The Crush was followed by the cancellation of both shows within a month.
"It was scary. You can be busy and doing things and suddenly it can all go away. I was lucky enough to get a bit of a second wind. When I found out I was doing Big Brother I couldn't believe it," he said.
Will's mother made a special appearance in the package, saying: "Seeing him on television is just lovely, he did that himself through sheer determination. I feel incredibly proud."
Tribute to family and friends
Will became emotional as he spoke about the support of his family, particularly the weekly video calls with his sister in Australia that have continued for five years. He said: "I pride myself a lot on not giving up, I wouldn't have been able to keep going if it wasn't for the friends and family that I have."
He added: "If I'm doing something that makes me happy, it makes them happy. Now that I've got a kid of my own, for the first time I really understand what that means."
Will and Dianne both recently became parents for the first time. Dianne returned to Strictly in September shortly after she and YouTuber Joe Sugg welcomed their son Bowden, while Will announced the birth of his son Sonny earlier in the month.
