Strictly's Lawrence Robb exits after Halloween dance-off

Lawrence Robb and his professional partner Jowita Przystał have become the fifth couple to leave Strictly Come Dancing, following a tense three-way dance-off during Halloween Week.

The Emmerdale actor and Jowita were eliminated on Sunday, November 1, after the judges' scores were combined with viewer votes. They faced Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu, as well as Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu, in the dance-off.

Halloween Week Routines and Verdicts

Saturday's show (October 31) saw Bethany and Nancy earn an impressive 36 points for their routine. In Sunday's results show, the couples performed their Halloween routines again: Bethany and Nancy danced their Jive to I'm In Love With a Monster by Fifth Harmony, Jaime and Carlos performed their Salsa to Filthy/Gorgeous by Scissor Sisters, and Lawrence and Jowita danced their Tango to Ghostbusters by Ray Parker Jr.

After the three couples danced, judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke all chose to eliminate Lawrence and Jowita. Motsi Mabuse, who had the deciding vote this week, said she would also have chosen to eliminate them if her vote was needed.

Lawrence's Farewell and Fan Reactions

Following his exit, Lawrence said: "It's quite hard to put into words, it's the most intense, the most incredible, the most loving, caring and wonderful family to be part of. The dance floor's electric. I've got my mum and dad here. I got to dance for my mum and dad again. I said to Jowita, 'I made a mistake, my head's in the clouds.' But honestly, I cannot thank everybody enough."

Turning to Jowita, he added: "This wonderful, wonderful, wonderful woman has helped me grow and become the dancer I didn't think I could be. All credit needs to go to Jowita as well. Monday's gonna be weird, but I'm moving house, so now I've got time to move house!"

Fans shared their reactions on X, with one person writing: "Lawrence and Jowita should not be leaving this weekend." Another added: "Gutted for Lawrence." A third said: "3 way dance off seems pointless and just putting more couples through it. Please let's not do it next week." Someone else commented: "I'm really really devastated! Poor Lawrence was robbed in the most horrible way during this horrendous three way dance off."

Results Show Highlights

During Sunday's results show, the professionals performed a Halloween group routine to Dracula by Tame Impala. The routine opened at a drive-in movie theatre, where Alexis Warr and Nikita Kuzmin were on a first date, before it was revealed that Nikita was a vampire. The dance featured a vocal cameo from Sir Ian McKellen, who had specially recorded an extract from Bram Stoker's Dracula. The episode also featured music from Becky Hill, accompanied by Strictly pros Aleksandra Isaeva and Cristian Priori.

Strictly Come Dancing is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
