Strictly's Dani and Nikita to attempt never-before-seen move

Dani Dyer and her professional dance partner Nikita Kuzmin have revealed they will attempt a never-before-seen move on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend. The pair appeared on Good Morning Britain on November 4 to tease what fans can expect from their upcoming live performance.

Last weekend's Halloween episode saw one couple secure an impressive 36 points for their routine, while another couple was eliminated in the series' first three-way dance off. Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu faced Lawrence Robb and Jowita Przystał, and Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu, with judges sending home Lawrence and Jowita.

Teasing the new move

When host Susanna Reid asked about the move, Nikita said: "I can't really say what it is just yet. We will try it tomorrow for the first time if it actually works." He described it as "half a lift, half a trick, half of whatever came up to my mind."

Dani joked: "He loves to throw in a trick, he really does." Nikita added: "It's also fun, it's fun for the viewers to see new things, try new stuff. Sometimes it's good to be bold and try things. They may work, they may not but you might as well attempt them."

Rehearsal risks

Asked whether the move carries the risk of going spectacularly wrong, Nikita confessed: "If it doesn't work tomorrow, then we will have to figure something else out." Dani also admitted to one ballerina move they "only got the day before we went," with Nikita adding: "I like everything being exactly perfect to the exact details."

On this year's changes, including the new presenting line-up, Nikita said: "Honestly, I am loving it. We love them. To see as well JoJo there with us, he's one of us. For him he knows exactly what we are going through, he's been in our shoes. Emma and Josh are smashing it downstairs so listen, I love it."

Strictly Come Dancing is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
