Lawrence Robb and Jowita Przystał have become the fifth couple to leave Strictly Come Dancing, following a three-way dance-off during Halloween Week.
Three-Way Dance-Off
The BBC show returned for Halloween Week on Saturday (October 31). After judges' scores were combined with public votes, Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu, Lawrence Robb and Jowita Przystał, and Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu found themselves in the bottom three.
On Sunday's results programme (November 1), the couples performed their Halloween routines again. Bethany and Nancy danced a Jive to I'm In Love With a Monster by Fifth Harmony, Jaime and Carlos performed a Salsa to Filthy/Gorgeous by Scissor Sisters, and Lawrence and Jowita delivered a Tango to Ghostbusters by Ray Parker Jr.
Judges' Decision
Following the performances, Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke all chose to send home Lawrence and Jowita. Motsi Mabuse, who held the casting vote, confirmed she would have made the same decision.
After his exit, Lawrence said: "It's quite hard to put into words, it's the most intense, the most incredible, the most loving, caring and wonderful family to be part of. The dance floor's electric. I've got my mum and dad here. I got to dance for my mum and dad again. I said to Jowita, 'I made a mistake, my head's in the clouds.' But honestly, I cannot thank everybody enough."
He added: "This wonderful, wonderful, wonderful woman has helped me grow and become the dancer I didn't think I could be. All credit needs to go to Jowita as well. Monday's gonna be weird, but I'm moving house, so now I've got time to move house!"
Fan Reactions
Viewers voiced their disappointment on social media. One person wrote on X: "Lawrence and Jowita should not be leaving this weekend." Another added: "Gutted for Lawrence." A third commented: "3 way dance off seems pointless and just putting more couples through it. Please let's not do it next week." Someone else said: "I'm really really devastated! Poor Lawrence was robbed in the most horrible way during this horrendous three way dance off."
During the results show, the professionals performed a Halloween routine to Dracula by Tame Impala, featuring a drive-in cinema scene with Alexis Warr and Nikita Kuzmin, and a vocal appearance from Sir Ian McKellen. The episode also included music from Becky Hill, supported by Aleksandra Isaeva and Cristian Priori.
Strictly Come Dancing is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
