Stacey Solomon has said she will protect her family's safety above everything else, as she addressed privacy concerns before the return of her BBC reality series with husband Joe Swash.
The presenter and Joe Swash first appeared in their own fly-on-the-wall show in 2025, and a third series is set to air on BBC One from next week. The programme follows the couple and their family in their day-to-day life at their home, Pickle Cottage, in Essex.
The couple moved into the Tudor-style property in 2021, with Stacey documenting the renovations in her book, Tap To Tidy Pickle Cottage, and keeping her millions of Instagram followers updated on changes to the home.
Moving from Pickle Cottage
In early September, Stacey and Joe announced they had sold what they described as their "dream home" and confirmed they had already left Pickle Cottage, having bought a new home "further out" where they said they intended to grow their own vegetables and have space to rescue more animals. Stacey's current vegetable patch is on land belonging to a neighbouring farmer.
As she began sharing the family's new home journey, Stacey admitted: "I’m not going to show the outside of the house this time around. Just for security and privacy reasons… we had some issues at Pickle Cottage in the end & it’s safer to just not show the building itself..."
Privacy and press attention
Stacey has now spoken about her feelings towards press attention into her and Joe's life, having previously discussed on social media being subject to a "pile-on". In an interview with the Press Association, she said: "I think for a long time in celebrity culture, there was this expectation that you put yourself in the public eye so you deserve this treatment.
"There is an unwritten understanding. If me and Joe go out in the public and there happens to be somebody there and they get a picture of us, that’s fair game. That’s part and parcel of this industry. We do draw the line though."
The Sort Your Life Out host, who is also a social media influencer, said increased violations of her privacy have impacted what she posts online.
Family safety first
"Maybe it will make us think of things differently moving forward," she said. "Hopefully, I’ll be able to stick up for myself enough for them to stop being inappropriate. But if I need to do something to stop this happening, then I’ll do it. The safety of my family comes before absolutely everything."
The new series of Stacey And Joe will return to BBC One on November 10 at 8pm, with all episodes available on BBC iPlayer.
