Harry and Meghan halt £10m Cotswolds house hunt

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly ended their search for a Cotswolds mansion with a budget of up to £10 million, weeks after returning to the UK. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been looking for a private property with up to nine bedrooms since their return in August.

During the search, the couple had been staying in the main house of a wealthy friend's country estate. They have now moved to a separate, smaller property on the same grounds, with the location kept confidential for privacy reasons.

Move to a Smaller Property

A friend of the businessman told the Daily Mail: "They were living in the main house. They have now moved to a property on the estate."

Prince Harry is understood to have befriended the businessman through their shared support of military charities. The friend said Harry is happy that Meghan, Archie and Lilibet continue to live on the estate.

End of the House Search

The couple's previous house-hunting criteria had prioritised privacy, reportedly asking for no public rights of way, ample land, and at least nine bedrooms. They still own a £19.5 million mansion in Montecito, California, which includes a tennis court, cinema, gym and swimming pool.

In an interview with GQ, the Duke of Sussex cited "opportunities" as a key reason for the move back to the UK, including British schooling for his children and being closer to his family after a lengthy rift. It was also reported that Meghan was keen to explore acting opportunities in the UK.

Meghan's Australia Role

However, it was recently revealed that Meghan will instead travel to Australia for a TV role, serving as a judge for the Junior MasterChef competition.
