Sky News presenter Ashna Hurynag has announced her departure from the broadcaster after five years. She shared the news on X, describing it as 'breaking news', and thanked her colleagues for a surprise farewell broadcast.
In her post, Hurynag wrote: 'Breaking news! Thank you to the team for the surprise send-off as I bid farewell to Sky News. The people are what makes it the best place to work. I cannot thank them enough for their support, kindness and friendship over the years. See you on a screen near you soon.'
During the live broadcast, her co-presenters revealed it was her last day and played a montage of her finest moments, including reports in challenging weather conditions such as sleet, snow, and torrential rain. They praised her as a 'genuinely lovely person' and said no one had a bad word to say about her.
Viewers expressed their support on social media, with one saying: 'You'll be so missed but very excited for what's next for you!' Another added: 'Awww, I'll miss you! Thanks for all your newsing and all the best with whatever you're up to next.'
