British Transport Police have launched a manhunt after a 17-year-old girl was raped outside Guildford railway station. The attack occurred at around 7pm on Sunday, January 19, 2025, and authorities have released CCTV images of a man believed to hold vital information about the incident.
Details of the Attack
According to police, a man approached the teenager and her group of friends as they were nearing the station. He pressured her to board a train with him, but she refused. The man then made explicit sexual demands, which she also rejected. He subsequently isolated the 17-year-old from her friends and carried out the rape. The victim eventually broke free and ran back to her friends, who were waiting outside the station.
Police Appeal and Investigation
British Transport Police Detective Sergeant Nick Thompson said: "The person responsible for this horrific crime targeted a vulnerable victim who was just 17 years old at the time of the attack. Specialist officers continue to support her and her family as we follow all lines of enquiry." DS Thompson urged the public to help identify the man in the CCTV images, stating: "He may have vital information that could assist our investigation, so if you recognise him, please get in touch as soon as possible."
