Sir Tom Jones left The Voice fans in tears during his final appearance on the ITV series, after his act Cait was announced as the winner of the 2026 series by host Emma Willis.
Last month, the 86-year-old Welsh singer found out he had been replaced as a coach on the show. His departure comes after 13 years on the panel.
Fans React to Emotional Finale
Viewers took to X to share their emotions about Sir Tom's last series. One fan wrote, "Anyone else get emotional every time they even see Tom, knowing this is his last series?"
Another commented, "A massive well done to Cait! A beautiful and sensational singer mentored by a truly iconic singer! See, this is so wrong that Tom Jones is leaving."
A third added, "The Voice will be finished when Sir Tom leaves...," while someone else said, "So glad for Kate, but also for Sir Tom." Another fan emotionally remarked, "Tom Jones wins as a mentor congratulations! But it's bittersweet though as it's his last year on."
Departure Confirmed
Sir Tom and will.i.am are two of the original judges on The Voice. In 2024, they were joined by newcomers LeAnn, Danny, and Tom, who replaced previous coaches Anne Marie and Olly Murs.
It was previously confirmed that Sir Tom would not be returning after 13 years on the show, a decision he claimed was not his. Taking to Instagram last month, he spoke out: "To be clear, I did not want to leave The Voice as I love the show and really appreciate the audience. ITV made this decision - obviously a while ago, and I was just told recently."
New Line-Up and Tour Postponements
It has since been revealed that Alesha Dixon and Stacey Solomon will be taking the reins as hosts, with rap artist Aitch and global pop icon Cheryl joining the judging panel alongside Kelly Rowland and long-standing judge will.i.am.
The news comes after Sir Tom was forced to pull out of several performances due to illness. After completing 20 shows, he postponed two of his upcoming shows on Monday, October 26, and then a further one on Thursday, October 29. It has since been announced that he will be postponing the remainder of his tour, citing an "unexpectedly hit with a bad case of the flu." Following advice from his doctor, he has postponed his next two shows on October 31 and November 1 until further notice.
The Voice is available to watch on ITVX.
