Halloween Week Scores
Two couples shared third place with 33 points each: model Cash Mercer, 25, with Maddie Ingoldsby, 21, who performed an Argentine Tango, and singer Delta Goodrem, 41, with Kai Widdrington, 31, who danced a Viennese Waltz.
TV personality Dani Dyer, 30, and Nikita Kuzmin, 28, received 32 points for their Viennese Waltz, matching the score of TV presenter Will Best, 41, and Dianne Buswell, 37, for their Couple's Choice.
Bottom of the Board
Actress Bethany Antonia, 28, and pro dancer Nanxy Xu, 35, placed seventh with 30 points for their Jive, followed by actress Jaime Winstone, 41, and Carlos Gu, 33, who scored 27 for their Salsa. Actor Lawrence Robb, 34, and Jowita Przystal, 32, were ninth with 26 points for their Tango.
Last week's leaders Tabby Stoecker, 25, and Mark Karmalita, 23, fell to the bottom after their Quickstep, tying with Graeme Hall, 60, and Lauren Oakley, 35, at 25 points for their Samba.
Three-Way Dance-Off Twist
During the live show, the hosts revealed that for the first time in Strictly's 22-year run, there will be a three-way dance-off this week. The three couples with the lowest combined judges' scores and public votes will face off, with the judges sending home one couple from the trio.
Fans have expressed disappointment with the twist on Reddit. One wrote: "I'm scared of my faves ending up there against those who end up with better dances..." Another said: "Its so pointless. The judges are acting like 'voting who to eliminate' instead of 'voting who to save' are not literally the exact same thing. Putting another couple through the dance off for no reason whatsoever."
"And they'll probably take it out of the time for the couples' interviews rather than the judges gazillionth interview as if they haven't already substantially reduced the amount of time we have to 'get to know the couples' this series," another added. Someone else shared: "On top of everything that has been said, it gives the judges scores more weight. It will be harder to be saved from the bottom of the leaderboard because three couples end up in the dance off. If the judges are playing favourites or someone just has a bad week, it could be devastating. It will also give a good idea about who has the public votes based on who gets saved."
The results show will air at 7.10pm on Sunday, October 1, on BBC One.
