Michael Sheen has reignited speculation that Maya Jama and King Kenny could be more than just friends after making a pointed comment about the pair's close bond. The Welsh actor, 57, appeared on Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked following Friday's nail-biting finale, where he finally discovered who had been secretly plotting against him throughout the BBC series.
Michael had been convinced that Maya, 32, and Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 35, were the show's Traitors. But he was left gobsmacked when he discovered YouTube star Kenny Oghenovo Ojuederie, better known as King Kenny, had also been playing him all along.
Sheen's 'killer blow' comment
Although Michael couldn't attend the spin-off in person because of rehearsals for his new play, he joined host Ed Gamble in a clip as he watched the big reveal. When Ed pointed out that Michael had barely suspected Kenny, the actor explained he had considered the possibility of the boxer and Maya secretly working together.
He said: "I said what if it's Kenny and Maya together, that would be... that's a killer blow." After Maya was revealed as the final Traitor, Michael couldn't hide his frustration. "Maya. Kenny and Maya, I said it" he exclaimed.
Romance rumours swirl
But when Ed suggested he should be pleased to have guessed one of the secret schemers, Michael was having none of it. "I said Kenny and Maya, but oh that would be ridiculous. That would be way too obvious, they spend way too much time together! Why would Traitors do that? They do it, they do it Ed! They do it!"
The comments have only added to the chatter surrounding the pair, who have been at the centre of romance rumours since filming the hit series. Fans were left stunned during Friday's finale when Kenny turned on Maya, banishing his fellow Traitor to protect himself in front of 11.9million viewers.
No bad blood between the pair
However, it seems there is no bad blood between them. The show was filmed five months ago, and over the weekend Kenny was spotted leaving Maya's £1.5million north London home after reportedly staying for a couple of nights. Sources said he had been sleeping on the sofa, while those close to Maya insist the pair are just friends and have known each other for years.
Kenny also turned up at Maya's Halloween bash in Shoreditch on Saturday night. The presenter dressed as Olympic legend Sir Mo Farah, while Kenny opted for an orange prison-style jumpsuit. Their closeness was also apparent during the series, with Kenny calling Maya "My lovely darling" during a paired mission.
However, the pair's reps have denied any romance speculation and confirmed the two are just good friends. Michael, meanwhile, ended his Uncloaked appearance with a warning for the Traitors: "I'm still going to get you! This game is not over until I say it's over! I said I will push and push and push and that doesn't mean just in the game!"
