Ozzy and Sharon's Eldest Daughter Aimée Explains Why She Skipped The Osbournes

Aimée Osbourne, the eldest daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, has revealed why she chose not to appear on the family's hit reality show, The Osbournes. The series, which aired on MTV from 2002 to 2005, followed the unconventional home life of the Osbourne family, including siblings Jack and Kelly, but Aimée's face was blurred in the rare instances she was included.

Now 36, Aimée told Q1043's Out of the Box that she valued her privacy and was concerned about the exposure a reality show would bring. 'I had grown up around having a pretty well-known dad anyway and I always really valued my privacy within that family,' she explained.

She added that she wanted to develop as a person rather than be remembered as a teenager on television. 'For me personally and for who I am, as far as morally, and also just to give myself a chance to actually develop into a human being as opposed to just being remembered for being a teenager.'

Aimée, now a singer and actress, credited her siblings Jack and Kelly for successfully building careers from the show. 'It definitely worked great for the rest of my family, but for me and who I am I just knew it was never something that I was going to be able to consider realistically,' she said.

A new spinoff, The Osbournes Want to Believe, focusing on paranormal conspiracy theories, currently airs on the Travel Channel in the US.
