Amanda Owen's series Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive & Kids has concluded on More4, and Channel 4 has confirmed both its replacement and additional seasons.
The programme, which follows the Owen family's renovation of the dilapidated farmhouse Anty John's with the aim of moving in, will be succeeded in the schedule by 24 Hours in Police Custody, airing at 9pm in the slot previously held by the Owens' series.
Replacement Programme Details
The upcoming episode of 24 Hours in Police Custody is described as a feature-length special telling the inside story of an armed siege in a Bedford tower block, with unprecedented access to the command suite during a live siege. A man calls 999 to report seeing a man with a weapon that looks like an AK-47 rifle shouting that he will shoot the next person he sees in the head. The call comes from a block of flats where two men have blockaded themselves in a flat. As one of the men inside begins posting live on Facebook, armed officers are ordered to surround the building.
Two More Series Confirmed
Despite the conclusion of the current run, it has been announced that Our Farm Next Door will return for two additional series. Production company Wise Owl Films will continue documenting the Owens for seasons five and six, comprising 10 episodes in total.
Season five is expected to resume where the fourth series ended, chronicling Amanda and the girls' first overnight stay at Anty John's. It will also document the family's experiences from last summer through to spring 2027.
The broadcaster has previewed the forthcoming seasons, disclosing: "With all eleven Owens involved, the series follows Edith, Violet and their sisters as they open up the cream tea van at Ravenseat, while Sid and Miles continue to take on more farming duties – all amidst the ever-present backdrop of the changing seasons in Swaledale for Amanda, Clive and their family."
Commissioning Editor's Response
Jayne Stanger, Commissioning Editor for the channel, commented: "Our Farm Next Door is a joy of a series that holds a special place in the hearts of our More4 viewers."
She added: "I am thrilled we're continuing to work with the team at Wise Owl to follow Amanda, Clive and the whole family on their renovation journey and I can't wait to see whether Anty John's might ever be finished!"
