My Life is Murder Returns for Fifth Series

My Life is Murder, the crime drama starring Lucy Lawless, has returned for a fifth series. The show, which fans have called "addictive," is now available on DVD and digital in the UK.

Return of a Fan Favorite

The Australian-New Zealand programme features Lawless as Alexa Crowe, a "fearless and brilliantly unapologetic private detective." She solves mysteries with the help of tech guru Madison (Ebony Vagulans) and cafe owner Reuben (Joe Naufahu), while dealing with her "bad boy" brother Will, played by former Grey's Anatomy star Martin Henderson.

My Life is Murder began in 2019 and has become a success with viewers, many of whom have posted online about binge-watching episodes repeatedly.

Viewer Reactions

One fan wrote on IMDb.com: "Love this show. I hope there's a season six, too. Love how they show the city and the way of life in New Zealand. Great actors in the show. I have rewatched season one through four at least five times."

Another viewer said they were "at a loss" when the last series ended but planned to "replay all the episodes." Someone else admitted to being "addicted," writing: "A couple of weeks ago I caught an episode on late night TV and I was hooked. I'm now up to date and I love it."

New Episodes and Availability

The latest series consists of eight new cases featuring dangerous villains. The synopsis reads: "The new series sees Alexa dive headfirst into a world of puzzling crime, from shady aquariums and elite cheerleading squads to creepy dolls and deadly island getaways. As buried secrets resurface, justice is never quite as simple as it seems, but one thing is certain – Alexa isn't backing down."

Following its broadcast on U&Alibi, My Life is Murder series five is now available on DVD and digital, courtesy of Acorn Media International. The show can be streamed on various platforms in the UK.
