Andy and Kim Murray to star in Channel 4 hotel documentary
Murray couple to feature in Channel 4 hotel documentary

Andy Murray and his wife, Kim, will feature in a new Channel 4 documentary series, chronicling the transformation of Cromlix, their luxury hotel in Scotland. The three-time Major winner bought the hotel, which is near his hometown of Dunblane, back in 2013.

Since retiring from professional tennis in 2024, Murray and Kim have been hard at work on the hotel, and the new three-part series gives a year-long look at Cromlix’s latest transformation, including a new wing with two restaurants.

Michelin recognition and renovations

News of the docuseries comes after one of their restaurants, Cradle at Cromlix, was recognised in the Michelin Guide. Our Scottish Hotel, coming to Channel 4 in December, will give viewers behind-the-scenes access to the couple and their team as they pull off the renovations, said to be “the biggest financial gamble” Murray and Kim have taken since they bought the hotel more than a decade ago.

“The last couple of years have been really full of change at Cromlix with a huge building project and a totally new direction for fine dining and wellness, and I was really keen to document that as there were so many personal stories and interesting discoveries along the way,” Kim said of the new series.

A personal project for the couple

“Andy and I haven’t worked on anything together before, so that was a fascinating process - and a learning curve! I’ve loved shaping this building and estate into what’s now become a really thriving and much-loved Scottish business. I hope people enjoy watching the show and meeting the team behind the hotel.”

Our Scottish Hotel follows the team at Cromlix as they attempt to continue delivering hospitality to guests while builders work on the estate. The documentary also follows Murray and Kim as they return following the hotel’s five-month closure, to see if the risks paid off.

Behind the scenes at Cromlix

Emily Shields, the Commissioning Editor for Channel 4, said: “Cromlix is a fascinating world to step inside, and this series offers a rare glimpse behind the scenes of a business where no detail is overlooked.

“Kim and Andy are embarking on an ambitious transformation, but at its heart this is a story about people: the team whose hard work brings Cromlix to life, and the shared desire to create something truly special. We’re delighted to be bringing viewers this warm, intimate and revealing look at life behind the doors of one of Scotland’s most distinctive hotels.”

The series features three one-hour-long episodes, produced by Rogan Scotland for Channel 4. James Rogan, the co-CEO of Rogan Scotland, said: “It’s been such a privilege for Rogan Scotland to be invited into Cromlix at this pivotal time. What fascinated us was not simply the scale of the transformation, but how personal every decision became.

“From the food on the plate and the David Shrigley works on the walls to the search for water beneath the estate, the series captures Kim and Andy’s contrasting instincts, ambitions and sense of humour. Cromlix is also the story of an extraordinary team, responding to each new challenge with ingenuity, pride and a determination to make every guest feel that nothing unusual is happening at all.”
