Mollie Gallagher reunites with Roy Cropper's David Neilson

Coronation Street fans were delighted as Mollie Gallagher reunited with her on-screen uncle, Roy Cropper actor David Neilson, months after her emotional exit from the ITV soap. The actress, who played Nina Lucas, shared photos of the reunion on Instagram, prompting an enthusiastic response from followers.

Exit from the Cobbles

Mollie bowed out of the Salford-based soap at the end of August after almost seven years as Nina Lucas. She first appeared on-screen in November 2019 as the niece of Roy Cropper, taken in by her uncle after her father, Richard Lucas, died.

After six and a half years in Weatherfield, Nina said an emotional farewell to Roy and her friends, having decided to move to Whitby to start a dream job at an art gallery.

Stage Debut and Support

Mollie, who also hails from Salford, left Corrie to make her stage debut as Clarice Starling in the UK and Ireland tour of The Silence of the Lambs. Earlier this month, she performed at the Lowry theatre, close to the famous Corrie set.

David Neilson, who has played cafe owner Roy Cropper since 1995, Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby), and Samia Longchambon (Maria Windass) were among those who attended the Salford theatre to watch Mollie in her new role.

Fans React

Sharing a photo of herself and David posing by a poster for the play, Mollie captioned the post: "Goodbye October BUT what a special time performing @the_lowry earlier this month!" She added: "(Very few photos because I really was living in the moment) Having all my family and friends coming to watch really was the best- a week I’ll never forget."

Comments from fans included praise for the reunion and her performance. @evesaxon said: "How gorgeous to see all your cast mates supporting you." @kat.2208.cor added: "Saw you at the Lowry and you were amazing. Blown away by your acting. Best theatre production I've seen."
