Mel C, also known as 'Sporty Spice', will join the Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers for their group performance this weekend. The announcement was made during tonight's episode of spin-off show It Takes Two (October 21).
Presenter Ellie Taylor returned to host the programme, delivering exclusive conversations, backstage footage and rehearsal developments. She teased the upcoming group dance, saying: "Let's just say, it's a little bit sporty and will make you sweat."
Fitness-Themed Routine
The professional dancers will perform a fitness-themed number. Choreographer Lizzie Gough explained the concept: "We wanted to throw everything that you would find in a gym, into their routine. So they are skipping, there are running machines.."
Mel C confirmed she will be part of the routine, saying: "It is so incredible to be here performing on Strictly. The last time I was here I was with the Spice Girls."
She added: "They are incredible and they make me up my game. But also, it's quite intimidating... Honestly, it's a dream come true so I hope everyone enjoys it at home."
Delta Goodrem's Return
Elsewhere on the episode, Delta Goodrem spoke about her comeback after being forced to withdraw from Icons Week over the weekend due to a rib injury. She will return this Saturday (October 24) with professional partner Kai Widdrington.
Delta said: "I'm very, very grateful to be back. Kai's been so amazing every day just checking in and working together at how we can make this happen but still heal and do the best that we can."
She added: "Everyone has been so lovely and so kind and beautiful and all the messages, I've been going in waves of tears all week. Very happy to be here."
Rumba Performance Planned
Kai revealed the pair will perform a Rumba, describing it as the "slowest of Latin dances, but also one of the most difficult, especially for the female dance partners."
The duo will dance to Celine Dion's It's All Coming Back To Me Now. Delta assured: "It's the ballroom, we've got to go out and deliver and I'll definitely try my best this week", before revealing her mum in Australia had offered some "good commentary", noting: "She wasn't thrilled with my arms."
Strictly: It Takes Two airs Monday to Friday at 6:30 PM on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer. Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday nights at 6:30 PM on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, followed by the Sunday results show.
