Maya Jama Donates Traitors Prize Money to Charity

Maya Jama has donated what she would have won on the latest season of Celebrity Traitors to the charity Action for Children. The Love Island host was the only original "traitor" to reach the final episode of the BBC show, which concluded on Friday, October 30.

Donation to Action for Children

Although she did not win the show, Jama chose to give back to a cause close to her heart. In a post on X, she wrote: "Just donated what I would have won for my chosen charity @ActnForChildren. Amazing cause. Action for Children works to help and support vulnerable children with issues such as poverty, abuse and finding a foster home."

The charity confirmed that Jama had donated £83,500. Katherine Woods, director of fundraising at Action for Children, told the Press Association: "We're absolutely thrilled to receive such a generous donation from Maya Jama."

Charity's Response

Woods added: "She certainly held her nerve until the very end and proved herself to be the star of the show. With four million children in the UK currently living in poverty, Maya's own experiences of food insecurity growing up make this incredibly generous support even more meaningful."

"Every day, our frontline workers see the impact of families struggling to make ends meet, from parents fleeing domestic abuse to those facing impossible choices about how to provide for their children as the cost-of-living crisis continues to rise," Woods said. "Generous donations like Maya's mean we can be there for families when they need us most, providing practical and emotional support so children across the UK can have the safe and happy childhood they deserve. Thank you, Maya."

Final Episode

In the final episode, Jama was the only original traitor left in the game, working alongside King Kenny, who also missed out on winning after the faithfuls turned against him. Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian Croft triumphed as "faithfuls" and split the £83,000 pot. Croft donated his £41,500 share to the charity Choose Love, while Ranganathan is giving his share to the Refugee Council.
