Maya Jama has been spotted back on set just days after the British public watched her narrowly miss out on a huge jackpot on Celebrity Traitors. The Love Island host, 32, has returned to acting as she joined the cast of The Gentlemen in London for the upcoming third series.
Jama joined the Netflix crime comedy in the latest series, and her character is set for a comeback. She took to a Greek restaurant in Mayfair with her co-stars to shoot new scenes. Her return was confirmed by Netflix bosses late last month. She will join Hollywood stars such as Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood and Robert Carlyle. Regulars in the series, including Ray Winstone and Vinnie Jones, are also returning.
Close call on Celebrity Traitors
The latest snaps, obtained by The Sun, come after Jama came so close to becoming another traitor to bag the cash pot on Celebrity Traitors. Viewers watched as Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian 'Bash' Croft split the £83,000 pot. The faithful duo were able to sniff out the remaining traitors, including Jama.
Another Traitor, King Kenny, had earlier delivered the fatal blow to the Love Island star by turning, foolishly as it turned out, on her and sending her packing. A favour she returned, saying coldly: "Good luck, you're going to need it."
Despite not winning, Jama decided to donate the prize money to her chosen charity. It meant Action for Children received the huge sum. The organisation was set up to support children and ensure they have a "safe and happy childhood". It also makes sure children have the foundations they need to thrive.
Romance rumours dismissed
Her team have had to shoot down rumours of a Traitors romance, though. Jama and YouTuber Kenny, 29, were friends before appearing on the show, and new reports claimed he had visited the star at her £1.5million London flat in a romantic connection. But they were quickly dismissed as two pals meeting up.
An insider shut down any romance speculation, saying that Kenny slept on the sofa. The source added that the pair, who were both Traitors on the show, "find it hilarious that their relationship could be anything else."
"Maya and Kenny are just friends. There is nothing romantic between them," a source told The Sun on Sunday. "Kenny has been firmly on the sofa this week and the pair find it hilarious that their relationship could be anything else."
The insider added that Kenny has been visiting Jama's home to spend some time with friends who have been staying with the TV presenter. The source told the publication that the pair "are genuinely really good friends" and built "a stronger bond" by starring on The Celebrity Traitors together. The insider added that Jama is single and is currently focusing on work and spending time with friends.
