The Wednesday letters page sees readers weigh in on The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel title reveal, with mixed feelings about Bethesda's approach, while others discuss GTA 6's file size and paid map, and question the value of recent remakes.
Mixed Reactions to Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel
One reader, Kimble, notes the teaser coincides with Bethesda's 40th anniversary and doubts it signals a full reveal at The Game Awards next month. "This teaser was only because of Bethesda's 40th anniversary and is a bit too early to be a tease for next month," they write.
Another reader, using the name Inflection point, expresses cautious optimism despite disappointment with Starfield: "I still have faith that Sentinel can be their turnaround, that wins back the fans and the acclaim they used to have. It has to be really or Bethesda could end up being the next BioWare, and not in a good way."
Shahzaib Sadiq calls the eight-year gap between announcement and title confirmation "rather disappointing," describing Starfield as "my worst Bethesda game after I completed the story."
GTA 6 Map and File Size Criticised
Reader Jagrus criticises Rockstar for charging 75p for a physical map of GTA 6, saying "Would it really have killed them to just put it in the physical box?" They add that "Rockstar's hatred for physical media has really soured me on them."
Shahzaib Sadiq reports GTA 6 is 212GB in size with pre-loading beginning on November 10th, and confirms they will secure a physical map "since a disc isn't happening."
Remakes and Nostalgia Questioned
Reader Castle expresses surprise at the Godzilla: Destroy All Monster Melee remaster, recalling enjoying the GameCube original but wondering "if a lot of these remakes are worth it." They add: "I've never been convinced that video game nostalgia makes all that much sense."
Yugo questions the purpose of Persona remakes, asking "Wouldn't it be better to put all that effort into just making a new game?" They also ask which old school Persona featured Hitler as an enemy; GC confirms it was Persona 2: Innocent Sin.
David looks forward to the Zelda: Ocarina Of Time remake review, taking two days off work to play it, and speculates on Nintendo's release strategy for the Switch 2.
