Lorraine Kelly's show was pulled from the schedule on Wednesday, November 4, after a power cut at the studio, with Good Morning Britain extended to cover the slot.
The 66-year-old presenter updated fans in a video from her car, saying there had been "a bit of a hoohah" after the power cut. Posting on Instagram, she said: "There's a power outage at the studio, so my show won't be on today."
She added that Good Morning Britain would still air, with the issue expected to be fixed at around 11 o'clock. This Morning would also still be on, "just maybe a little bit later."
Sharleen Spiteri appearance postponed
Kelly said she had been looking forward to talking to Sharleen Spiteri from the band Texas, adding: "We shall reschedule, and it'll all be fine, and I will see you tomorrow." Spiteri, a Scottish singer, was due to promote the band's new single Another Way To Cry as well as their 30th anniversary tour.
In the caption, Kelly wrote: "These things happen. Can't be helped. See you tomorrow."
Good Morning Britain extended
On Good Morning Britain, Susanna Reid and Ed Balls confirmed there would be no Lorraine today. Reid said they would "normally find out what Lorraine's got in store" but that would not be happening, with Balls replying: "An event has occurred."
Reid confirmed the power outage and said: "Lorraine is not on air today. But we're here until 10 o'clock!" Good Morning Britain was extended for an extra 30 minutes, with Reid joking she hoped the production team had "plenty to fill the space."
It is believed Lorraine will return tomorrow at her usual 9.30 slot after the studio power issues have been resolved.
