Lorraine Kelly has confirmed that her ITV programme will not air on Wednesday morning as planned, after a power outage hit the studio. The presenter announced the news on her social media account on Wednesday morning (November 4), sharing a video filmed from her car.
In the clip, Lorraine said: "Hello there, I'm on my way to work, but there's been a little bit of a hoo-ha. There's a power outage at the studio, so my show won't be on today. But you can still watch GMB. They're going to fix it around 11 o'clockish. So, This Morning will still be on as well, just a bit later."
Fans React to Last-Minute Change
She added: "It's a bit of a shame. I was really looking forward to Sharleen Spiteri from Texas, but we shall reschedule, and it'll all be fine. I will see you tomorrow!"
Lorraine captioned the post: "These things happen. Can't be helped. See you tomorrow." As her programme usually airs from 9:30 until 10, Good Morning Britain confirmed their show was being extended by an extra 30 minutes.
Fans quickly took to the comments section to express their disappointment. On Facebook, one person wrote: "See you soon x", while another responded: "Oh, take care." A third commented: "Shame [sad face emoji]." A fourth supporter added: "See you tomorrow." One viewer wrote: "Aww reschedule and go home and treat yourself to a nice wee breakfast with a snuggle in with Angus."
Recent Absence From the Show
This latest change comes after Lorraine recently took a temporary leave from her programme, with Loose Women's Christine Lampard stepping in. That absence occurred as her 85-year-old mother was being released from hospital after suffering a serious fall.
The ITV presenter posted an update for her followers at the time, writing: "Mum getting home! Great news and huge thanks to all at Hairmyres Hospital for making it happen. Thanks also to friends, family, and fabulous neighbours who have been incredible and so helpful - and to all of you for your good wishes - much appreciated."
Upon returning to her programme in October, she provided an update on her mother's condition while speaking with fashion correspondent Mark Heyes. Lorraine commented: "She is out of hospital; she's doing great. Social care is fantastic, brilliant neighbours." She then voiced her appreciation to "everybody that's been rallying around" to support the family.
She continued: "I'm heading back after this; I'm going to head back up. But she's very strong, Mark. She's very stoic. You know, she is, and she's doing great. So Mum, I will see you later."
Lorraine continues weekdays on ITV from 9:30am.
