Lorraine Kelly confirmed her ITV breakfast show will not air on Wednesday morning due to a power outage at the studio. The presenter shared the news with fans in a video posted to her Instagram account while on her way to work.
In the video, she said: "Hello there, I'm on my way to work, but there's been a little bit of a hoo-ha. There's a power outage at the studio, so my show won't be on today. But you can still watch GMB. They're going to fix it around 11 o'clockish. So, This Morning will still be on, just a bit later. It's a bit of a shame. I was really looking forward to Sharleen Spiteri from Texas, but we shall reschedule, and it'll all be fine. I will see you tomorrow!"
Fans React to Last-Minute Cancellation
Followers quickly responded to the announcement, expressing their disappointment and offering support. On Facebook, one viewer said, "See you soon x." Another added: "Oh, take care." Someone else commented: "Shame [sad face emoji]." A fourth fan shared: "See you tomorrow."
Another individual wrote: "Aww, reschedule and go home and treat yourself to a nice wee breakfast with a snuggle in with Angus." One more said: "See you tomorrow, Lorraine. Thanks for your amazing shows. Still wish you were on for the full hour."
Recent Absence and Return
Lorraine fans recently saw the presenter temporarily step away from her programme, with Loose Women's Christine Lampard covering. This followed her 85-year-old mother being discharged from hospital after suffering a fall.
Lorraine updated her followers at the time, writing: "Mum getting home! Great news and huge thanks to all at Hairmyres Hospital for making it happen. Thanks also to friends, family, and fabulous neighbours who have been incredible and so helpful - and to all of you for your good wishes - much appreciated."
Upon returning to her programme in October, she provided an update on her mother's condition while chatting with fashion correspondent Mark Heyes. She commented: "She is out of hospital; she's doing great. Social care is fantastic, brilliant neighbours."
She added: "I'm heading back after this; I'm going to head back up. But she's very strong, Mark. She's very stoic. You know, she is, and she's doing great. So, Mum, I will see you later."
Lorraine continues weekdays on ITV from 9:30am.
