EastEnders: Amy feared to have killed Craig in showdown

Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) has left Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey) unconscious after striking him with a candlestick in Wednesday's (November 4) episode of EastEnders, leaving viewers to question whether she has killed the villain.

The dramatic sequence unfolded after Amy, who had been groomed by the disgraced detective, finally realised the truth about his manipulation. Craig had first encountered Amy while investigating the attack on Joel Marshall (Max Murray), and used her confession to the crime to isolate her, claiming he had her best interests at heart.

Why Amy turned on Craig

Amy's trust in Craig unravelled after she overheard him making a phone call to her father Jack (Scott Maslen), demanding a large sum of money in exchange for her safety. She confronted him about the real reason he was fired from the police force, having learned from Denise Fox (Diane Parish) about his past misconduct.

Realising she was being used, Amy convinced Craig to go get food, then used his phone to call Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega), who was with Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky). She revealed she was being held in a bedsit and made clear she was in danger.

The violent confrontation

Craig returned to find Amy on the phone and a struggle ensued. Amy locked herself in the bathroom to escape another outburst, but Craig forced his way in and was struck with a candlestick by the terrified teenager.

Craig fell to the floor immediately, losing consciousness, leaving Amy reeling at the sight of him before her. The episode ends without confirming whether Craig will survive the attack.

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One, with episodes available to stream from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
