Kiefer Sutherland Cancels US Tour Leg Over Low Ticket Sales
Kiefer Sutherland Cancels US Tour Due to Low Ticket Sales

Kiefer Sutherland, the actor and musician known for his role in 24, has become the latest artist to cancel a US tour leg due to poor ticket sales. The 59-year-old announced on Friday that he will not proceed with the US portion of his tour, originally scheduled to begin in New York this July.

Announcement on Social Media

In an Instagram post, Sutherland expressed his disappointment: "With great disappointment I am going to have to cancel the U.S. leg of my tour due to very low ticket sales. I don't think it's fair to the people who bought tickets, or the venues, to play to half empty houses." He added that he looks forward to touring the United States again at a more suitable time and hopes fans understand. Refunds will be available from the point of purchase.

Remaining US Dates and UK Tour

Only two US dates remain on Sutherland's website: a Connecticut casino in June and a Las Vegas resort in July. He is currently in the midst of the UK leg of his tour, with upcoming performances in Manchester, Belfast, Dublin, and Cardiff. His fourth album, Grey, is set for release on May 29.

In a note on his website, Sutherland described the album: "The songs were written and recorded over a two-year period from 2024 to 2026. In many ways these songs mark a growth for me personally, as I wrote less about observations and more about personal feelings that I have been navigating in my own life."

Legal Incident

In January, Sutherland was arrested after allegedly threatening a ride share driver in California. He was charged with a felony and released on $50,000 bail. As of March, the case was still under review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Other Artists Cancelling Tours

Sutherland is not alone in cancelling tours this year. The Pussycat Dolls, after announcing a reunion tour, cancelled all but one show reportedly due to poor ticket sales. The group, comprising Ashley Roberts, Nicole Scherzinger, and Kimberly Wyatt, shared on Instagram: "When we announced the PCD Forever Tour, we hoped to bring the show to fans across the world. After taking an honest look at the North American run, we’ve made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North America dates."
