Sydnie Christmas, the 29-year-old singer who won Britain's Got Talent last year, has her sights set on Eurovision. Despite taking home £250,000, she is determined to finish her Level 3 personal training qualification, telling The Mirror: 'I'm going back to school in March.'
Before her rise to fame, Christmas worked at a central London gym. She recalled a tough commute before her audition: 'A week before my audition, I got off my first bus at 4am, there was sick down the back of my coat. It was rough.'
Christmas performed at the Royal Variety Performance in front of King Charles at the Royal Albert Hall last year, alongside Eurovision winner Nemo and James Bay. She wore an embellished strapless gown and sang 'Believer' with the Royal Variety Orchestra.
The singer's BGT win secured her spot on the Royal Variety Performance bill. Queen Camilla was unable to attend due to lingering post-viral symptoms.
Amanda Holden and Alan Carr hosted the event. Holden, a BGT judge, praised Christmas: 'In the words of Sydnie Christmas, let's av it!'
