Janette Manrara to host Strictly 2027 live tour, fans thrilled

Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed that the live tour will return in 2027, with Janette Manrara back as host. The announcement was made on the BBC show's official Instagram, and fans have quickly shared their excitement.

The tour will take place across UK arenas in January and February 2027, featuring professional dancers and celebrities performing routines. Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, and Anton Du Beke will reunite on the judging panel, while Janette Manrara returns as tour host.

Fans welcome Janette's return

Reactions to the announcement flooded in, with many delighted to see Janette back within the Strictly sphere. One person remarked: "Janette would have been a brilliant SCD host." Another posted: "Fantastic, Janette is back." A further comment read: "Welcome back, Janette."

One supporter noted: "Oh, lovely that Janette is back as host. I really do not mind Ellie (Taylor), but I so miss Janette." Another stated: "She should have been hosting Strictly with Emma."

Janette's Strictly history

Janette was involved with Strictly Come Dancing for nearly 14 years. She originally joined the programme as a professional dancer before transitioning to become a presenter of its companion show, It Takes Two, which she fronted for five years.

Despite auditioning for the position to become a main presenter on the series, following the departure of Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, the roles were awarded to Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe instead.

Reflections on missing out

Janette has been candid about missing out on the position, recently telling This Morning: "It was tough because Strictly was such a huge part of my life, I was there for almost 14 years."

She added: "Aljaz is still in the show, so I just hoped that it would go in that way for me. But, it didn't, and that's ok because I think life finds a way of still giving you that magic that is needed for you. I really wanted to act. I had been working on my acting skills for the last couple of years, actually."

At present, the 42-year-old has stepped onto the stage, starring in Affluenza alongside Netflix star Noah Schnapp. Strictly Come Dancing is available to watch on Saturday on BBC One from 6:30pm.
