With Halloween approaching, Netflix offers a wide range of horror films, thrillers and hidden gems, making it difficult to decide what to watch. A TV reviewer has highlighted three films that are worth prioritising this haunted season.
Luke Eccleston, a 26-year-old TV reviewer from Wigan, said: "Here are three films on Netflix that will make you feel so uncomfortable you'll want to look away, but you won't be able to."
Speak No Evil
This disturbing horror-thriller stars James McAvoy, Mackenzie Davis, Scoot McNairy, Aisling Franciosi and Alix West Lefler. It begins with lighthearted conversation but descends into something considerably more sinister.
Luke said: "This film is genuinely incredible. It follows this family who meets another family on holiday. After getting along, they invite them along to come to their house. But the family isn't what it seems at all. What comes next is truly horrifying."
Anticipate a slow-burn experience when viewing the film, which becomes increasingly tense with every passing scene. It'll leave your heart thumping faster and faster with every twist.
Creep
Next up is a found-footage horror powered by an exceptional, unpredictable central performance. It boasts a dark streak of humour and a constantly evolving sense of what's real or not.
Luke explains: "This follows a man who hires a videographer to come round and video his last message. But when this guy's there recording him, he realises there's something not right about this guy."
The film stars Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice and will transport you on an unexpected journey you simply won't be able to tear your eyes away from.
Netflix fan Luke added: "This film doesn't go where you expect at all, so make sure you check it out."
Hush
Hush is a razor-sharp home-invasion thriller starring Kate Siegel, John Gallagher Jr., Michael Trucco and Samantha Sloyan.
Unlike other films with a similar storyline, this one features a clever twist. Its lead character is deaf, compelling her to defend herself with instinct and resourcefulness rather than sound.
Tense, fast-paced and laden with suspense, it's a genuine edge-of-your-seat viewing experience that will have you screaming at the TV.
Luke added: "This films heightens every emotion, every scene, and it is such an incredible film. You need to go and see it right now."
These three spine-tingling picks are guaranteed to make the most of your Netflix subscription this Halloween week.
