James Blunt has dismissed suggestions of a feud with Romesh Ranganathan, revealing that the Celebrity Traitors winner has donated to his charity of choice. The singer, 52, was banished in the final roundtable of the BBC show, which aired on Friday, October 30, before Ranganathan and actor Sebastian "Bash" Croft were crowned champions.
In the celebrity version of the programme, contestants compete to win money for a charity of their choice, unlike the original format in which players keep the prize for themselves. Ranganathan and Croft split the £83,000 prize fund between Choose Love and the Refugee Council.
Blunt praises Ranganathan as a "very sweet human being"
Speaking on Hits Radio, Blunt said the pair get on "very well" and described the comedian as a "very sweet human being". When asked whether Ranganathan had donated some of the winnings to his charity, Blunt confirmed he had.
"Romesh is a very very sweet human being, and I promise he and I get on very very well," Blunt said. "He has done. I was going to save that for a conversation I was having with him, but you know, if you're going to mention it, he absolutely has. It's called the Blue Marine Foundation."
Record-breaking finale audience
The Celebrity Traitors finale drew its highest average overnight audience of the series, with 11.2 million viewers tuning in. The episode peaked at 11.6 million on BBC One, alongside a 62.9% audience share, according to the BBC.
Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the show follows 21 celebrity contestants as they attempt to identify the traitors among them, who "kill off" players overnight. Other contestants in the series included presenter Maya Jama, actor Sharon Rooney, comedian James Acaster, actor Michael Sheen and actor Bella Ramsay.
